Rucksack Backpack

This was a present for my wife. She loves it. The overall construction is excellent, however in my opinion the grab handle and front flap strap are a little lite in comparison to the rest of the pack.

I love this pack but I used it for about 6 years and then the canvas split across the back near the bottom. I purchased mine from Moose River if that makes a difference.

Got it on sale, so we won't be sending it back, HOWEVER... It is a RUCKSACK so it almost REQUIRES a double-bottom by definition to avoid the inevitable hotspots on its cute little rear end AND since DP has gone to a lighter grade of canvas since they've become so very yuppified even MORE critical nowadays. We own and have lugged all over the North//South American continents AND Europe AND Asia, SEVERAL 50//60 year old D P stalwarts, such as what're being called "Cruisers" these late digital daze PLUS food packs AND other HEAVY old D P canvas war ponys AND simply cannot imagine THIS little guy, with nary a re-inforcement in sight, canvas OR leather, lasting like our old pals have.... We shall see...

Just received my Classic Rucksack in Navy Blue and it is a really nice pack! Just the right size, simplistic in design (which is what I was looking for) and should hold up for many years. I am not sure how well canvas at the bottom will hold up compared to an old Buxton leather rucksack I have been carrying for 28 years but we will see. The pack just fits me on the shoulders.....just. My shoulders are perhaps slightly wider than others so I can see how some people complain about the pack sliding off. If the design was tweaked a little bit in the straps I think this would have a 100% rating as it really is a cool looking pack. I think after time, as the leather softens, it should fit my frame like a glove. Everything seems to be solid with excellent craftsmanship and I really have nothing to complain about. Roxanne was the sewer so her name is written on the tag inside. Thanks Roxanne! You and everybody else at Duluth Pack should be proud of the products you produce. I do not mind paying more for American Made Quality.

I've had mine for about five years and to say I'm hard on stuff would be an understatement. It has held up to countless hauls and overloads and I hope to purchase another in the future. Total strangers compliment my back all the time - I have the burgundy - and I'm always quick to recommend DP.
