Range Bag

Like all Duluth Pack products, this bag is impeccably made. It suffers from one design issue, which is especially surprising given its price: it's too small. And I mean it's too small by just a couple of inches. This became apparent when I tried to put my Duluth-Pack-pistol-rug-enclosed full size pistol inside. Only the mini pistol rug will fit. Now, my 1911 will fit in a mini pistol rug, but anything bigger requires the medium rug. This bag should have been designed for the medium pistol rug, allowing you to carry, say, a Sig P320 Full. Yes, you can fit a medium pistol rug inside at an angle, but that significantly reduces the capacity to carry other supplies. Sadly, this may be the first Duluth Pack product I return, since for the price I can pick up one of their larger bags that will actually fit their own pistol rugs.

Just received my New model range bag. I got it in waxed khaki. Excellent bag, a lot of room, well though out design. From the old model though I think it was a mistake to remove the buttons from the handles. When carrying it over the shoulder with the strap the handles are just flopping around and looks sloppy. Other than that it's a winner!

Bag has plenty of room for ammo, supplies, and equipment to the range. As with all the other Duluth Pack items I own, the quality is exceptional.

I've owned my Duluth Pack Range Bag for almost a month and have used it dozens of times for my trips to the range or for pistol league matches. The overall design is an elegant and simple interpretation of the range bag, which I very much appreciate. Most range bags are overly complicated with too many pockets, PALS webbing, or other "tacti-cool" elements. The Duluth Pack Range Bag provides enough storage in the main compartment to carry 3 full size pistols cases, targets, plus enough ammunition for my needs. The double zipper opening is very smooth and snag free, giving you full access to the main compartment. The front pocket holds my eye and ear pro, lens cleaner, multi-tool, and other small items. The back pocket holds my staple gun for hanging targets and a box of staples. This bag really is the ideal size for my needs. There are some things I would like to see done differently. As far as I can tell, the leather shoulder pad can not be adjusted beyond the metal tri-glide on the shoulder strap. This keeps the shoulder pad from being ideally located on top of the shoulder when the strap length is adjusted to a certain length. There isn't much rigidity to the sides or top of the bag, so it does sit a little flat when empty. This causes you to use one hand to hold the bag up while you load it with the other. Perhaps adding some padded elements to the sides of the bag would increase rigidity and add an extra bit of protection? Overall, I am very pleased with the bag and would definitely buy it again. My hope is that Duluth Pack will figure out a solution for the shoulder strap (and maybe send me one for testing!) :) I'm already eyeballing my next bag and will buying again soon. Cheers!

I bought this bag stickily for sporting clays shooting . It holds easily eight boxes of shot shells in the main compartment . I'll never lug around that many but this well made bag could handle it . It's not going to fall apart like nylon bags . You get what you pay for and this is one strong bag.
