I recently picked up a vintage Monarch 60 pack from a local antique shop. Last week I had an opportunity to use it during an overnight camp. The pack held my tent, canteens, baselayers, knife, cook kit, first aid kit, and sleeping pad with ease. Love the way the pack rode on my back. Only thing I would like to change/add would be a poly liner to make it more water resistant. Great pack for having a 1950's boy scout label on it. And yes, I kept the jamboree label on the pack.
My wife got me a Duluth Pack almost 40 years ago, as she knew I've wanted one because my grandfather had one for years and was lost after he passed away. My 60 Pack hunts with me for 3 months out of the year and is as good as the day I got it. It will serve my sons well after I'm gone.
