Derek W.Z. We never experienced one drop of water get into the gear. How? We place one bag into another. The outside bag takes any abrasion. The inside bag is to keep the clothes, etc. waterproof. These are the steps used: 1. push all of the air out of the inside bag; 2 twist and fold over the twisted top of the bag; 3. take a section of a bicycle tube, which will server as a rubber band; and 4. place the section of bicycle tube over the twisted, folded bag. Next, we do the same with outside bag. Works like a charm. Happy paddling!
