Gin Fizz

The Gin Fizz is a cocktail classic! Duluth Pack has curated this recipe by Liquor.com to share with you as a fun summer drink to sip on in the evening. The Gin Fizz is a type of drink very similar to a sour as both often use egg white. Egg white can be used to soften tart drinks and make them richer in taste, they also help to hold the flavor of the drink well. When drinking a Gin Fizz or any drink that uses egg white you should not stir it into the drink, but rather shake it with a shaker for the full effect. Grab a glass and try this iconic drink!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • ¾ ounce simple syrup
  • 1 egg white (about 1/2 ounce)
  • Club soda, to top (about 1 ounce)

Directions

  1. Add the gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white to a shaker and vigorously dry-shake (without ice) for about 15 seconds.
  2. Add 3 or 4 ice cubes and shake vigorously until well-chilled.
  3. Double-strain into a chilled Collins glass and top with club soda.

Simple Syrup Recipe

Some of these recipes include simple syrup in their ingredients list. Rather than purchasing this item, you can make it at home with a few ingredients that are often kept on hand. Liquor.com has an easy-to-follow recipe to make this ingredient so you can always have fresh simple syrup on hand.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • (Add a teaspoon of vanilla to make vanilla simple syrup)

Directions

  1. Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Let cool, then pour into a glass jar and seal tightly with a lid.
  4. Simple syrup will keep, refrigerated, for about one month.
