Inspired by our traditional envelope style packs, we made the Scout Pack out of the same 15-ounce canvas and premium leather that go into each and every canoe pack we build by hand in Duluth, Minnesota. The ultra slim and trim silhouette of the pack make it great for packing along on a trip or wearing on a quick bike ride to the local coffee shop. The roomy main compartment and small interior zippered pocket make the Scout Pack great for organizing everyday necessities such as keys, a laptop, or small guidebook. Of course, like all of our bags and packs, the Scout Pack is ready to hit the trail at a moments notice and will become a trusted companion for both urban and outdoor adventures for years to come. Whether you are searching out a new fishing hole or a hole in the wall bookstore, the do-it-all attitude of our newest daypack will get you where you need to go in heirloom quality that will only get better with age. All of our handmade packs and bags are built to last in Duluth, Minnesota, USA. Our factory, where we have been building our products since 1911, is home to an extremely talented group of sewers, riveters, and leather craftspeople. Each piece of Duluth Pack gear is painstakingly built by hand with the attention and detail that only a true artisan can provide. We stand behind our work and are proud to offer a lifetime warranty covering all craftsmanship and hardware we use in the construction of our products. Craftsmanship includes our sewing and riveting. Hardware includes all zippers, buckles, D-rings, snaps, and any other parts utilized in the manufacturing of our bags. If at anytime during the life of your Duluth Pack product you have problems in these areas, return the product and it will be repaired free of charge. If the product cannot be repaired due to a defect in craftsmanship or faulty hardware, we will be happy to replace the item at Duluth Pack’s discretion. While your Duluth Pack item is designed to provide you with many years of use, Duluth Pack is not responsible for common wear and tear or misuse of your product and is therefore not covered by our warranty. Of course, damages not covered under warranty can usually be repaired at a minimal cost. We sincerely value your patronage and will always do our absolute best to go the extra mile to ensure that you are happy with every Duluth Pack purchase.

The bag is PERFECT and gets 5 stars. Customer service is among the friendliest I've ever talked to. The website needs a serious upgrade though. I placed an order and thought everything was fine, but after 2 weeks with no bag I called and found out it was backordered and would be another 3 weeks before they had it ready. Why wouldn't the site list items as backordered?? My order status was never updated and I never received a phone call or e-mail. How is this not automated???
Call before ordering and confirm they have what your interested in.

My husband got me the navy scout pack and I love it! It is so strong - I don't have any concerns even when I fill it full of heavy books. I use it mostly for taking stuff to work. I toss a small purse inside, with the rest of my stuff. Highly recommend.

I've been looking forever for a nice canvas backpack that isn't too bulky or masculine-looking. This bag is perfect. I bike to work on a regular basis and I take it with me every time. My only complaint is that I wish there was another smaller pocket to separate different items. Other than that, the quality is wonderful and I get a ton of compliments on it.

I use this bag for day hikes, morel hunting, biking around the city, festivals, everything! I just wish it had a grab handle on top. Love it.

I've been using my scout pack for about a week, mostly for walking and taking public transit to work. I love this pack.
One thing I was surprised at was how low it sits on your back even on the tightest buckle setting. It feels balanced just fine; I guess I was just used to cranking my old backpack straps way tight so the pack hung nearer to my shoulders. The canvas is heavy and rugged, and the leather straps, once stiff out of the box, are now becoming more supple and easier to get in and out of the buckles. The holds a surprising amount for when I need it to, but is small and sleek enough for all the rest of the time.
I carry my laptop, charger, day planner and a pad of paper in the main compartment, and all my small items in the zippered pocket. If you pack lightly, you might even be able to use this as a weekend bag (without a laptop inside). Two thumbs way up.Posted on 7/14/11 by casey

I love my scout pack! It holds all of my piano books and if I need just one subject for school it totally works. I've taken it on trips to Silver Dollar City and it's very comfortable all day, even with a box of popcorn in it! Big bonus: It's made in the USA! Which is very important.

I just received my pack in the mail and i am getting so many comment on my University's campus. Everyone want to know where did i get these amazing pack from. "Can i purchase it in the bookstore?" I am loving the attention that i am receiving. I chose the Maroon color.
This pack is very reliable!! I carry my MacBook Pro around, along with my portfolio, wallet, brush, charger. And the special zipper section inside the pack allows to keep my "protection" (wink wink)..... College Rocks!!!!

For years, Duluth shell bags and haversacks were my "around town" carriers. But when the Scout Pack appeared, I saw in it the perfect city bag. Books and papers get swallowed up, and there's still room for a camera or two. Little stuff like pens, pocketknife, etc. find a home in the zippered pocket.
