Whether carrying along on that long awaited dream trip or just spending a relaxing day beach combing along Lake Superior, the practical size and attractive styling of our Classic Rucksack is just the ticket for your next adventure. Built from our tough 18-ounce canvas, we also added premium leather shoulder straps and a leather flap top to keep your stuff safe and secure throughout the day. The bag closes with a traditional buckle closure. Beneath the top flap is a button snap compartment with a leather flap for storing smaller items. A leather draw cord encloses the top opening. Made in USA.

If the product cannot be repaired due to a defect in craftsmanship or faulty hardware, we will be happy to replace the item at Duluth Pack’s discretion. While your Duluth Pack item is designed to provide you with many years of use, Duluth Pack is not responsible for common wear and tear or misuse of your product and is therefore not covered by our warranty. Of course, damages not covered under warranty can usually be repaired at a minimal cost. After lusting after my partner's Rucksack, I finally got one about 2 yeas ago. What a great pack. Here a a few of my favorite things: 1) low profile when not full. 2) fits easily and well over a winter coat! 3) comfortable on a bicycle, 4) leather top flap doubles as a mat for a packed lunch, 5) holds a surprising amount of stuff. It's built to last--about a year ago, my big dog chewed a 1-inch tear into the beefy leather strap. I was able to stitch it closed with leather lacing, and it has performed perfectly since. That says a lot. Recently, our Rucksacks accompanied both of us to New Zealand (along with my Rambler). It was simply perfect on the plane, in the airport, on city walks and bike rides, hiking on beaches, and on the grueling 1-day Tongariro Crossing. And it looks great.

This bag has been all around the world with me. I use it to commute to work on my bicycle, to travel internationally. Breaks in nicely over time. Quality is superb.

First of all the picture on the website does not show the true beauty of this pack. I am constantly getting compliments on how nice this pack looks. But looks is not why I purchased this pack. This pack is great! It holds more than you would think. In the main compartment there is enough room for a rolled up windbreaker type jacket, extra t-shirt, water bottle, a couple of books and magazines, toiletries, PSP, small laptop and lunch with room to spare. The external pocket is perfect for passport, small notepad/pens, mini flashlight, ipod, keys, wallet etc...The leather straps are more comfortable than any padded modern pack I have owned. It is a perfect size for air travel. This pack also slips on and off with ease yet fits snug to your back above the waistline. The construction is solid. I also love that when you open up the main compartment, right next to the Duluth tag is an American flag tag, reminding me how much it is worth it to pay a few extra bucks for a quality American product. The only down side to this pack is that it does not have a hand carry loop on top but this pack is so good it really does not matter.

Keep it in the car/boat for the impromptu short hike or picnic, have had it for only six months but is wearing in nicely, it is very secure on the back and stays put when exploring off the trail and almost forget its there. It caries my favorite picnic foods and a poncho with ease.

I searched and searched and finally found the Web site for Dultuth Pack on line. I need a strong but light backpack for an extended trip to Asia. The people at Dultuth were amazing to deal with and patient beyond belief. I explained to them what I required. The first backpack they sent me was to large because I am rather small. When I telephoned them, they said, 'no problem' and sent me without charging me for shipping the Classic Rucksack". It more than did its jobs. I traveled for more than two months in Asia and stuffed my rucksack, and it looks as if it were brand new. Very few products are that good. Moreover, it was admired where ever I went. More importantly, it is light and holds a great deal of stuff. I carried a medium format Mamya Camera forty rolls of 120 film, filters, a change of clothing, (folded up as small as possible), a net-book, and other assorted items in the pocket on the front.
Since I was doing a great amount of traveling by plane from country to country, it was essential to keep my luggage portable. While my suitcase bought for the trip developed a tear, nothing happened to the Classic Rucksack.
I hope that this superb Company continues to thrive and grow. But I would be very sorry if it grew and shipped its factory to China. The quality of the products that Duluth Pack manufactures is of the highest quality.
