For years I used two different Bean nylon knapsacks for carrying books and papers for my bicycle commute. Each of these was good for several years, but the zippers started to give out. The Duluth replacement, size large, like their canoe packs will last and last, and the zippers are the most durable I've seen. I'm about 6'; the large is a great day pack for hiking, etc.
