Our Deluxe Shell Bags are constructed of heavy 15-ounce canvas and carry our famous moose leather logo. Additional features include a leather bottom, a zippered pocket and internal separator, a high quality roller buckle and leather flap strap. Comes with a brown leather shoulder strap and brass hardware. (Great Lakes color comes with black canvas/leather and nickel hardware). These classics don’t get old; they just get more experienced. History of this Product
Our shell bags were originally numbered in series from one hundred to four hundred. The designation was used to note the specific number of shells a bag would hold.

All of our handmade packs and bags are built to last in Duluth, Minnesota, USA. Our factory, where we have been building our products since 1911, is home to an extremely talented group of sewers, riveters, and leather craftspeople. Each piece of Duluth Pack gear is painstakingly built by hand with the attention and detail that only a true artisan can provide. We stand behind our work and are proud to offer a lifetime warranty covering all craftsmanship and hardware we use in the construction of our products. Craftsmanship includes our sewing and riveting. Hardware includes all zippers, buckles, D-rings, snaps, and any other parts utilized in the manufacturing of our bags. If at anytime during the life of your Duluth Pack product you have problems in these areas, return the product and it will be repaired free of charge. If the product cannot be repaired due to a defect in craftsmanship or faulty hardware, we will be happy to replace the item at Duluth Pack’s discretion. While your Duluth Pack item is designed to provide you with many years of use, Duluth Pack is not responsible for common wear and tear or misuse of your product and is therefore not covered by our warranty. Of course, damages not covered under warranty can usually be repaired at a minimal cost. I purchased this for my Mom for a Mother's Day present and she absolutely loves it! She proudly wears it as a purse and uses it everyday! I would recommend this Deluxe Shell as a present for any purse/man bag etc!

This makes a great "man-bag". I use it daily to carry my cell phone, corporate security badge, pen, notebook, flash drives, snacks, keys for my client's offices, pill box, etc., etc., etc.. If I tried to stuff all of this in my lap-top bag, I'd list to starboard! I keeps my hands free and my essential bits & bobs handy.

This is a well constructed bag. I purchased to use as it was named - a shell bag - when I am on the clays course. I'm six feet tall and the strap is just too short. I'm pretty handy so I made a new one. It would be nice to have some strap measurements and the ability to get a longer one.

Good sturdy bag but I do have some issues.
I ordered the #200 in Kahki and it is still smaller than what I was hoping for. I would have liked another couple inches all around.
Also, I think the shoulder strap is a bit thin(width) and mine did not come with a shoulder pad for the strap which would make it a lot more comfortable. I would have liked the option to have a matching canvas strap.
I also wish there were more inner pockets, like for a cell phone, maybe for a water bottle and a D-ring for attaching keys would be a definite plus.
I say this bag is more suited for a book bag.
I do like the color and the construction is solid.

My boyfriend bought this bag for me after i graduated from college since my other purses were outworn and not in the best of shape. This bag has been so great! It has enough room for my wallet, keys, camera, phone, sunglasses and all the other odds and ends that we carry in your purses, even a water bottle! This pack has come with me on air and land trips and seems to be the perfect size for anything. Adjustable shoulder straps are perfect for me, granted I am 5'5'' tall. I have had this pack for over a year now, and it still looks brand new! No complaints! You will NOT be disappointed in this bad! :)

I bought mine in 2004 and I've used it nearly everyday since. It's a great design - enough room to hold wallet, checkbook, cell phone, sunglasses, etc, but isn't too big or bulky as to get in the way. in 6 years of use, there is only some slight color fading in the canvas. I love this bag and I know it will keep going strong for years to come! I highly recommend it!

I bought mine in 2006, and it's made every road/air trip with me since-- it's just the right size for carrying the few travel extras I don't take every day (maps, passport, handi-wipes, etc.) without being too big a purse to carry around when I've arrived at my destination.
The rough-texture on the back of the shoulder strap keeps the dang thing on my shoulder, in place, without slipping through days and days of airport security lines.

The only problem is the shoulder strap is too short for tall people to use the product comfortably as a field bag. It rides too high and is constricting if you have a coat.
