Time will tell, but so far so good. One point not evident in the description is that this paddle comes apart into two pieces. Given that I don't expect to use it all the time paddling my canoe the ability to take down makes it much more valuable to me. Sometimes I use a tarp if the bugs allow it and right now I'm trying to figure how to get double use from the paddle as a tarp pole. Fun way to pass some winter time. I did put some car wax on the joint where it goes together. Nice fit, I can see how a little dirt would bind the joint up, obviously, keep it clean.
