The size was just what I needed and there are lots of great functional pockets and organization, but not too much as to be a pain or too specialized. This will be my companion for work for a long, long, time to come. (Posted on 10/14/2013)
Perfect fit for meReview by Sean

I've spent the last few plus years carrying a Safari portfolio and it's held up wonderfully. I'd carry something else for a while but always return to it. I needed just a bit more room for my daily life and finally settled on a Freelance. I always do my research and looked at all the major name brands out there. I've been looking for several months. I just received the brown Freelance today and it's exactly what I needed and exceeded my expectations in appearance and comfort. The leather handles concerned me a bit but they're like butter in my hand. Duluth has already proved their product's durability and it's unmatched. The leather accents and the brass really makes the bag stand out. The brown is much better in person. A professional bag without a doubt. If you're looking for a daily bag that will look great no matter the environment then look no further. I recommend it without hesitation. (Posted on 3/5/2013)
This was my 1st Duluth Pack product.Review by Dave

First impression is "This thing is made of very durable materials and put together nicely. The zippers are big and easy to use, they hold tight. The pockets are creatively useful. I keep two pistols in a double shoulder holster, gun cleaning kit, extra magazines, magazine holster, flashlight holster, matching heavy duty belt and several boxes of ammo in this bag. It is absolutely perfect and more than strong enough to carry the weight. I call it "my long walk to Mexico bag" These Duluth Pack bags are so nice, you'll be coming up with reasons to buy more of them. Quality and Craftsmanship are excellent, made in the U.S.A. great briefcase with custom leather strapReview by kokopeliman

I've had mine since 2000! Through final year of bachelors, grad school, and 3 positions! I've tried others including a Filson and always came back to this one! As for the custom strap, on a whim I dropped in at the factory and requested a leather strap as the oem was not working too well. The craftsman listened to what I was looking for. To my surprise, he dropped what he was doing and made a leather strap on the spot for me! Awesome! I have other Duluth Packs as well and will always buy another..... (Posted on 11/11/2010)

This case is absolutely worth it! I used it for two years at school, carrying tens of books at a time in it. I bring camping, and to work, along with in the field for the national guard. The case still looks brand new, and I'm excited for it's use for many years to come! (Posted on 7/15/2010)
75,000 miles a year and still going strong!Review by Don P.

I bought my case about 6 years ago, I think they called it something different back then, but it's a real work horse that, like my #3, always has room for one more thing. There's an intangible element too, on even the longest, most painfully boring business trips, I can still look at it and see the direct connection to a quiet night on an island in Jackfish bay listening to the wolves howl on the bluff just East of us. Anywhere my portfolio goes a little bit of Ely and the BWCA goes too. (Posted on 7/15/2010)
great bag, plain strapReview by sjk

bag is great. the strap is moderate to poor especially if you want to carry on the shoulder with a business suit. need a padded strap protector and it would be perfect (Posted on 4/1/2010)

I use the Freelance to carry everything for college and it is VERY durable. The thing I have a problem with is the two front pockets. If you stuff them full it will be open between the two of them because the flap does not cover them. I had it sitting in the back of my truck and came through a rain storm. When i got home my $100 calculator was ruined but everything in the main compartment was dry as a bone. I agree with Dave about the capacity. (Posted on 11/8/2009)

I work out of my office a lot and the Freelance Portfolio has been a durable and dependable briefcase for me. The zipper is beefy enough to last and the buckled pockets are handy and easily accessable. The internal pockets provide just enough organization. My only complaint is that the Freelance should be offered in the Builders Portfolio size for more capacity.
