All of our handmade packs and bags are built to last in Duluth, Minnesota, USA. Our factory, where we have been building our products since 1911, is home to an extremely talented group of sewers, riveters, and leather craftspeople. Each piece of Duluth Pack gear is painstakingly built by hand with the attention and detail that only a true artisan can provide. We stand behind our work and are proud to offer a lifetime warranty covering all craftsmanship and hardware we use in the construction of our products. Craftsmanship includes our sewing and riveting. Hardware includes all zippers, buckles, D-rings, snaps, and any other parts utilized in the manufacturing of our bags. If at anytime during the life of your Duluth Pack product you have problems in these areas, return the product and it will be repaired free of charge. If the product cannot be repaired due to a defect in craftsmanship or faulty hardware, we will be happy to replace the item at Duluth Pack’s discretion. While your Duluth Pack item is designed to provide you with many years of use, Duluth Pack is not responsible for common wear and tear or misuse of your product and is therefore not covered by our warranty. Of course, damages not covered under warranty can usually be repaired at a minimal cost. This is a very nice checkbook wallet. I bought mine in black and it looks very stylish. The interior color is the same as the brown wallet pictured. The outer leather is a nice somewhat stiff (not glove soft but not a piece of wood either) single piece of leather with a smooth grain and semi-gloss look. The edges are not folded but are bonded as a laminate and sewn. The bonded edge is shiny which I think makes it look a little plastic like but overall, you can see that the quality is there. I'm not so sure I care for the location of the pen holder. It is on the edge (rather than the center fold where most are) and pointed inward. With the checkbook, the write through protector and a pen in the pen holder, the wallet becomes a bit clumsy when closed. Also, when a pen is in the pen holder, the tension causes that edge of the checkbook cover to crease outward. I can foresee this wearing quickly and perhaps ruining the look of the wallet. This is the ONLY reason I gave it four stars instead of five. I may just take it to a shoe repair shop and have them remove the pen holder since it's not essential anyway. On the whole though, I am very pleased at the quality, reassured by the guarantee and glad that in at least some small way I could support a product "Made in USA."

I had an expensive leather holder that wore out after about 12 years. Don't see it happening to this one. Besides, I really like the olive canvas look.
