Full Description

Although it looks simple, we’ve put handy pockets throughout this bag to store those items you need while wandering. The main compartment is big enough for binoculars and a small field guide and has a generously sized zippered pocket. Under the top flap on the Haversack’s front is another full-length open pocket faced with flat pockets ideal for pens, a small note pad, or calculator. We even included pockets on the outside ends that would easily fit a small cell phone or iPod®. 18-ounce canvas throughout, the Haversack has leather trim and piping, and a leather flap strap with a roller buckle. An adjustable leather shoulder strap ensures carrying comfort while you wander the woods or sidewalks. Made in USA.

Definitely waterproof!

Of course, there are tiny things I'd change to make this the Absolutely Perfect Purse. The bag could be a hair wider, I prefer a swing clasp over a buckle, et cetera. But this bag is phenomenal as it is, and it truly won my heart today. It was one of those days when everything went wrong, including my water bottle dumping its entire contents into my purse. Luckily, I'd chosen the waxed canvas version, and the lake was entirely contained to the main compartment. My gadgets, in the side and front pockets, stayed bone dry. This bag is truly waterproof (even at the seams), and that's the only reason I still have a phone tonight.

It goes everywhere

I bought on of these is olive over 10 years ago. When I'm hunting, it's my hunting bag. When I'm fishing it holds extra fly boxes, lunch and a bottle of water or flask of
wild Turkey, depending on how cold it is. When I go to town, It is with me. The older it gets, the better it looks. It is the only bag I have ever seen that won't make a man feel like a sissy if he carries it. I take it with me everywhere and it has been given high marks by almost everyone who sees it. I don't think I'll be able to wear it out, so when I'm gone, someone will get one hell of a fine haversack.

I have had this bag for 10 + years and still love it. I use it daily. It's been to both Mexico and Costa Rica with me. Easy to travel with as it holds more than you think and keeps me organized. Treating myself to another as mine is just showing some wear and tear. Thank you for you quality craftsmanship. Worth every penny!

I would recoomend the haversack to anyone. I have ms and a service dog to help. The haversack has taken everything both of us have thrown at it and still looks good after 5 years. I have decided to down size to the mini and as my original is still in good shape I am going to give it some love with Frebreeze and donate it to the local battered womens shelter to share with someone else who will enjoy it as much as me. Thanks again-Shelly

I purchased full sized haversack several years ago..... and also purchased one for my daughter. The sack has so many organizational areas that it is just the best to use and it looks as good as the day I received it. I am going to purchase another for a gift.

I was lucky enough to get this bag in 2003 as the conference bag for the Society for Comparative Biology. I have carried it every day since and use it as my purse/everyday bag. Many other conference bags get used for trips to the post office, grocery trips or packed for travel but this bag is never empty. What a shock today to see how expensive it would be to replace. I guess I will just repair it. After nine years of rough abuse, there are holes in the bottom corners and at the top corners along the flap fold. The seams are all still intact. I don't keep anything in the body small enough to fall out so I still use it as is. There are plenty of pockets to secure small stuff. It will easily be repaired with a bit of patching. At less than a dollar a month so far I would heartily recommend this bag.

I bought this bag in waxed canvas as a companion for my Scoutpack backpack. I have Coach, D&B and Ralph Lauren bags and I have to say this little bag has become my go to everyday bag. My husband and kids can't believe that I've ditched my high-end bags for this little wonder. It holds everything I need for everyday errands and it's absolutely fabulous for travel. On a recent trip I packed it with my IPad, nikon digital camera, small cosmetic case, glasses (in the side pocket), pens, wallet and travel journal. Sounds like a lot but everything fit! Greatest bag ever! And made in the USA makes it that much more special! PS - one suggestion to make this bag even better...a zip pocket on the top flap for passport, keys etc.
