Finally, the perfect bag!
  • Rating

I just received my bag yesterday (in burgundy), and I am so pleased with it already. I don't often write reviews, in fact this is my first, but I am so excited about this bag that I feel like I have to write a review. After spending 4 years in college trying to find the perfect bag, I have finally found it! This bag will be perfect for school (I'm a grad student), and perfect for a travel/weekend bag (I go abroad a lot). The size is just right, the color looks good, it's lightweight and roomy, and the overall look is really sleek, I've just had it a day and received so many compliments. Hopefully I will have and use this bag for many years to come!

One GREAT pack

I have had this pack since 2001. Its been through college, travel, camping, and hunting. It is finally thread bare in the bottom, but a quick patch job got me through that last semester of college. Great product well worth the money and the only backpack that lasted me more than one year.

Great Pack

I just received my new Rucksack (Black on Black) and it is awesome! As indicated in other reviews it is bigger that expected, which i am glad. It is build solid (and in the USA!) the leather is heavy duty and appears to be very good quality.

Happy

Received this as a Christmas gift this year, have used it once so far and am very happy with it, I do hope that the leather softens as it did cause a little irritation on my shoulder as I am used to a padded strap. I love the look of it and totally love how much it holds.
Looking forward to many years of use -hiking, being #1 but I do travel several times a year, so it will also come in handy on the plane as I can stuff it full. Thank you

classic!

I have had this pack for about a month now and I have to say that it has been serving me well. I did have a problem with the leather straps digging into my shoulders, but after moistening the straps with some water and wearing the pack for a hike, the straps moulded themselves to my body shape and now the pack fits like a well worn pair of shoes!

Love my custom Classic Rucksack!

Just got my custom Rucksack, and it is love at first sight. I've been eyeing this pack for over 2 years and finally made the plunge. Added a top grap loop, 2 side lash tabs, and a hanging pocket on the inside for just a bit more money. Duluth was wonderful answering all my questions and getting back to me with my requests. The pack is gorgeous and just how I wanted it. The waxed canvas is beautiful and substantial. The leather straps will need breaking in, but I know from experience that once they are broken in this will be my most comfortable pack. And a huge thank you to Carolyn for making me such a wonderful pack! I can't say enough about the customer service and the quality workmanship. I will continue to recommend Duluth to my family and friends.

Great looking and functional pack/purse

I used this rucksack on my trip to Washington. It has all the room you need for day hiking and more. I had two light jackets with me, camera, kindle, wallet, and water bottles for 4 people. It is larger in capacity than it looks on the picture. Only drawback I experienced is that the straps are really wide and hard, and are placed so far apart that the leather in between the straps tends to buckle out and stabs you in between the shoulders. Duluthpack should sew the straps closer together on the top and that will be fixed. Other than that, awesome pack in looks and functionality. I will be using this every day, so I'm hoping when the leather wears a bit the issues will be resolved. Thanks Duluth pack, I love your product.

Great little pack

I've had this pack for 7 years...used and abused all over Alaska. Way better than any nylon pack ever made. My only wish is for a slightly larger version.

After lusting after my partner's Rucksack, I finally got one about 2 yeas ago. What a great pack. Here a a few of my favorite things: 1) low profile when not full. 2) fits easily and well over a winter coat! 3) comfortable on a bicycle, 4) leather top flap doubles as a mat for a packed lunch, 5) holds a surprising amount of stuff. It's built to last--about a year ago, my big dog chewed a 1-inch tear into the beefy leather strap. I was able to stitch it closed with leather lacing, and it has performed perfectly since. That says a lot. Recently, our Rucksacks accompanied both of us to New Zealand (along with my Rambler). It was simply perfect on the plane, in the airport, on city walks and bike rides, hiking on beaches, and on the grueling 1-day Tongariro Crossing. And it looks great.
