good, but may need repairs

I've had my hiker now for about 4 years, and its been a mostly good product. However, it has failed me twice now. I once broke the handle off while paddling in the U.P. and ended up boiling water for the better part of a week. I also recently broke off the small connecter that attached the intake hose to the main body. These filters are nice but don't rely on them...they are expensive, unreliable, and heavy. Tablets may be the best bet of all. You just need to get used to the taste.

Very easy to use. Finding replacement filters has been tough. I looked a three different camping stores this summer and they were all sold out.
