This style snowshoe is a great all round design. It's tracks well in open areas and the narrow front sheds snow and keeps from "Snow Plowing". It's great for more wooded areas also. The narrow front can manuver around brush and sapplings with ease.

Great for forested areas

The pointed toe of the Ojibwa style really does help cut through protruding brush that can tangle the lead edge of a snowshoe. While it doesn't do the trick every time, it cuts down on trips and stumbles considerably.
