Greatest Backpack Money Can BuyReview by Sam

I have used this bag nearly everyday for over 12 years. Having been on my back across 3 continents and many thousands of miles traveled, it has held together better than I could have ever imagined. Truly, what "Made in America" is supposed to mean. (Posted on 9/18/2014)
Great backpack!Review by Jeah

I bought this backpack in 2010 for school and so far it still looks quite new even though I use it nearly every day. I bought the large size in maroon and I really like it. It's extremely durable, can hold a lot, and gets better with age. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's only the one large compartment and then the little front pocket, so it can get a little unorganized at times. Also if the bag gets really wet, the red tends to rub off. I haven't had a huge problem with the color though because I haven't worn it extensively in the rain, but I've wiped off water a couple times on it and noticed red tends to get on the napkin. If you're looking for a durable bag to last you years, I would highly suggest this. Just make sure you are prepared with an umbrella if it is down pouring. (Posted on 10/29/2013)
Best School Investment!Review by SLH

Got this for my son's freshman year of high school after tiring of going through 2 backpacks a year! He didn't like it at first but it's gotten softer and malleable over time and holds all his stuff. He's now a high school Jr and he LOVES his backpack!!! He uses it for school and beyond! I was drawn to the Made in the USA and Lifetime warranty. Great investment that should get him through college!! (Posted on 8/6/2013)
Best Backpack EVER!Review by SimpleLittleBell

I got mine (large) when I started high school, and now, and I come towards the end of my second year of college, it's still going on being amazing. I've carried at least 20lbs of books, computer, ect. in it without a problem.
Only issue is that the leather logo patch came off due to my picking at worn and loose stitching, and a small hole in the bottom of the back from wear, rubbing and pencils poking through occasionally.
I hope to get one of the laptop daypacks for this coming year, to better protect my computer, because as a graphic design major, it's like the most important thing in my life.
Either way, I'll be bringing a Duluth Pack with me to England when I study abroad next year. :) (Posted on 4/14/2013)
Best pack I could ever haveReview by DJ
Rating
This pack was given to me as a gift for starting college in fall of 2005, after years of use as a book bag, camp bag, and hunting bag, the fabric may have faded, but the versatility and ruggedness of the pack certainly have not! Ounce for ounce this is the TOUGHEST pack (besides my canoe pack) that I have ever owned. As a kid all my packs wore out by the end of the year, but this dynamo has shrugged off the years of use and I fully intend on getting one for my kids when they start school. Keep up the awesome work!! (Posted on 12/28/2012)

My day pack for hiking, canoe trips, etc. I do, however, miss a waist belt. Otherwise it's perfect--much more durable than the Bean book bags I used for bicycle commuting before I retired. (Posted on 10/3/2012)
Wax CanvasReview by Bryant
Rating
The wax canvas while more expensive, is a great option for those who really get out in any weather to explore. One thing to note is that it breaks in different than the other bags. Additional work is necessary to keep the bag waterproof. It works great for hunting as well as any other daily uses. I use my everyday, and it keeps getting better with age. (Posted on 8/8/2012)
Great Stuff!Review by Steve

I purchased this backpack about a month ago. I walk with canes and rely on this backpack every day to carry many items I need. The wide shoulder straps are deceivingly comfortable and bear a heavy load very well. It is durable and the canvas material keeps everything dry in wet weather. I look forward to using it for many years to come! (Posted on 4/6/2012)

I've had a Day Pack since college and it's still like new. It will be one of my best friends in grad school.
My boyfriend is an archaeologist and once I introduced him to the Day Pack, he hasn't used anything else. It's near waterproof and hardly gets and dust, sand, or soil in it. You can beat it up all you want and it keeps on kicking. (Posted on 4/3/2012)

I received this (in navy blue) as a gift over 10 years ago. It is still in excellent condition after being my primary book bag through both college and grad school (and a lot of traveling). It's been through a lot but remains completely in tact and the color hasn't faded either. (Posted on 2/24/2012)

I ordered this backpack after I ordered one from another company that was way too small and had terrible construction. Anyways, even though this backpack is relatively expensive, I feel like it is worth the price. I ordered the large version and could fit a pencil case, tissues, an umbrella, and a calculator in the front pocket. In the big pocket I could fit three textbooks with half of the space still unused. The only thing that I didn't like is that I wish the straps were padded, but overall the backpack is really nice. (Posted on 8/11/2011)
Strap and Zipper IssuesReview by Genesis

Received as gift, material and construction good but we were disappointed straps not padded and also that the zippers are not covered for rain resistance. Would not recommend for regular workplace trip...or anything other than occasional school use. (Posted on 8/10/2011)

I just got the large daypack a week ago and am very pleased with it. Everything about it is high quality and I can already tell I will never need another daypack again. The cotton web straps are much more comfortable than I expected too, even when the pack is full. My only regret is not buying it 20 years ago! (Posted on 2/18/2011)

I've had this backpack for 12 years and have been very pleased. The design allows it to hold an incredible amount of weight. I did have to get the bottom replaced after about 10 years of heavy use, but it was inexpensive and my bag now looks like new.
Wonderful backpack! (Posted on 12/8/2010)

After one year of use, this backpack has held up like no other! My son in high school has destroyed numerous packs by carrying heavy loads of books, but his Duluth Pack is still looking like new!! I thought for sure he'd pull the rivets out, but they are holding up quite nicely. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this product. It is well worth the price. (Posted on 11/22/2010)

This is by far the best backpack I've ever owned, or even seen. It's stylish enough to take around campus - I get compliments on it all the time - yet I know that if I ever need to hit the great outdoors it won't even break a sweat. My only regret is that I didn't find out about Duluth Pack years ago. (Posted on 11/16/2010)

I've taken this backpack across 5 continents in the last 10 years, and it has been the most comfortable, stylish, durable and versatile backpack i have ever owned. I wouldn't trade my Duluth Pack for anything....

On my most recent trip this winter to Florence, Rome, and Naples, I was absolutely blown away by the latest fashion trends. The Italians were wearing Timberland boots, Woolrich coats, and Orvis bags. I fit RIGHT in with my Duluth Pack, and even got a few friendly compliments. Stylish, versatile, and a love sentence....Duluth Packs (Posted on 9/24/2010)

I received my Duluth Pack for Christmas about 10 years ago. I have used it for school, camping, beach, airplane rides-- it goes everywhere with me! I have carried it in the pouring rain and none of my stuff has ever gotten wet. It doesn't show much wear either, even though I use it often and I think it looks better with age. It is also made in USA!! I wouldn't recommend anything else! (Posted on 8/14/2010)
School BagReview by Jade

I got this back pack for my preschooler his second year since I had to buy 3 bags the first year (which cost more total than this one good one). It is larger than the children's bag, but I know from experience with other packs that it will last him all through school and later on he will need a larger bag. It is not too big he can't handle it since preschool doesn't require much more than a folder and an extra pair of clothes. His Brother will be starting next year and he will get one too! We were tired of buying new backpacks for our kids...there were always broken zippers, not big enough packs and just wearing out all the time. We took the kids to Duluth Pack and let them pick their colors and they have had them ever since. Actually we had to get a larger one as our daughter hit high school. It's off to college with her in the fall! Thanks for a great product! (Posted on 7/15/2010)

For years I used two different Bean nylon knapsacks for carrying books and papers for my bicycle commute. Each of these was good for several years, but the zippers started to give out. The Duluth replacement, size large, like their canoe packs will last and last, and the zippers are the most durable I've seen. I'm about 6'; the large is a great day pack for hiking, etc. (Posted on 7/15/2010)

I purchased this back pack for my daughter for elementary school 12 years ago. After the abuse it took on the bus, the playground, in the snow, rain and mud... it still looks good and is used almost daily. Another fantastic item from Duluth Pack. (Posted on 7/15/2010)

I bought this pack 13 years ago. It's been tossed out of my deer stand, carried on countless fly fishing adventures, and carries the bulk of my climbing gear on a regular basis. I've carried this pack every year for the last 13 deer seasons and it's looks as good as the day I bought it. A fanastic buy is a understatement! (Posted on 4/30/2010)
Buy a new one?Review by Bob
Rating
Not for me. I bought mine at a thrift store over 10 years ago and it was well used when I bought it. I have no idea how old the pack is, but it's served me well for the 10 years I've used it as my daypack. It's not the same size as the packs listed today. Mine's 18" tall and 12" wide the way I measure it so it would be somewhere between the medium and the large. The straps are all webbing with no leather to increase the length. Anyway, unless something terrible happens to your Duluth backpack you will only need to ever own one by the looks of things. If you need a backpack this is the one to buy! (Posted on 4/8/2010)

I was sick and tired of replacing both of our kids school packs every year. Zippers were broken on all of the old style cheap ones within three months. I decided to spend a little more and get them good ones. 5 years later and they are still like new. A little cleaning now and then but like new. Bullet proof zippers, couldn't break them if you tried. GREAT PRODUCT, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND MAKING THEM IN USA. (Posted on 4/11/2009)
Standard pack midsize for adults too! Review by Camera builder 3 girls dad.
Rating
Super pack. I bought this after finding the standard too big. Although designed for school kids it is an ideal medium pack for adults. Shoulder straps could be longer though, they just fit me and I am 6'1". I did put in some padding and my 15' mac book pro fits perfectly in a sleeve. I carried the pack all over yosemite as a day pack with snacks and coats for our family of 5. Just the right size for daily use too. First class, and I am VERY fussy about my packs.
