I've essentially lived out of this bag for the last 10 years, using it heavily almost every single day. It took me through a PhD, post graduate work and a couple years of my 1st "real job". Went with me across the USA and three continents, came with me to job interviews, classes that I took and taught, weddings, funerals, beach and fishing trips. Has all the nooks and pockets you need to take your work/laptop with you anywhere you need. Plus, it looks great. People that seem to appreciate a rugged look will compliment. Over time, the bag has worn in a nice sophisticated way - reminiscent of the way my DP portage packs have aged. Only thing that has happened to mine was that both shoulder strap rings broke at 5 and 8 years under the massive weight I put on this constantly - understandable. Easily fixed. If DP ever doubles the strength of these rings, the product will essentially have been perfected. Extreme value on this product and a very safe, classic choice.
Have decided to finally upgrade to a leather version of this product for the next stage in life, even though this could last another 10 years at least.Posted on 8/26/12 by Auburn Catfish

This is my every day briefcase and has been for about 8 years now. I always take it when I travel. It has been all over the US, England and Scotland several times. I simply love it!

After using it for 20 years traveling to the office and 8 years to evening classes, it finally achieved the light green patina that I first saw in the large Duluth packs at Sommers Canoe Base. A problem with rivet pulling out on the carrying strap was quickly fixed ( also the other one that had not yet failed) with a metal washer at no cost. It's good for another 30 years now.

Purchased bag for work and since then it has become the only bag I use on an everyday basis. Fantastic quality! I have owned this bag for nine years and have had no problems.

- a very tough bag

My grandfather carried this bag for many years and as an engineer and a very active man with many projects, he really beat the hell out it! Though it was worn and weathered, it was still completely functional when he gave it to me as a teenager (as he had received a shiny new one). And his raves about Duluth Pack products are what got me into them.
The worn look wasn't even bad, it gave it a nice distinction (Duluth Packs age well and just look cooler as you beat on them).
Now, as a 25 year old, this pack is still going strong. I've lost track of how old it is, but I'd hazard a guess of 15-20 years. Everything is holding up fine, aside from a few small holes in the canvas, near the top of the bag, which I was told could be patched. The structural integrity of the bag is unaffected and all the hardware is holding up fine, the leather bottom is really proving to be an invaluable feature as I'm sure a lesser bag would be without a bottom by now (as the canvas upper parts have hinted to).
Though I did not purchase this bag new, I was happy to find out that the warranty was still honoured. A great bag with a tough and useful design; it makes for a nice "briefcase" or school bag, very easy to keep things organized, more-so than a backpack, especially if you have a lot of drafting/writing utensils and papers). Its been a pleasure to own and a "guinea pig" that inspired me to purchase other Duluth Pack products.Posted on 7/15/10 by wingsofjudas
- The last briefcase I will ever buy

I have had this bag/briefcase for years and it is so well made, even the little leather zipper grabs are still in great shape. As it goes more and more "seasoned," it became more and more a dear friend. I'm not gentle with it, either. It gets treated like a "man bag" should, and it seems keep saying ,"bring it on."
