The zippers we use in our bags, designed and built by YKK®, are the absolute best and are designed to excel in outdoor environments where mud, sand, and rain can play havoc on moving parts. The ample front pocket in the medium and large sizes feature slip pockets for pens/pencils, a calculator, cell phone, or iPod®. We recommend the small for elementary kids, medium for middle school, and large for high school and college students. Made in USA.

Our factory, where we have been building our products since 1911, is home to an extremely talented group of sewers, riveters, and leather craftspeople. Each piece of Duluth Pack gear is painstakingly built by hand with the attention and detail that only a true artisan can provide. We stand behind our work and are proud to offer a lifetime warranty covering all craftsmanship and hardware we use in the construction of our products. Craftsmanship includes our sewing and riveting. Hardware includes all zippers, buckles, D-rings, snaps, and any other parts utilized in the manufacturing of our bags. If at anytime during the life of your Duluth Pack product you have problems in these areas, return the product and it will be repaired free of charge. If the product cannot be repaired due to a defect in craftsmanship or faulty hardware, we will be happy to replace the item at Duluth Pack’s discretion. While your Duluth Pack item is designed to provide you with many years of use, Duluth Pack is not responsible for common wear and tear or misuse of your product and is therefore not covered by our warranty. Of course, damages not covered under warranty can usually be repaired at a minimal cost. I purchased this back pack for my daughter for elementary school 12 years ago. After the abuse it took on the bus, the playground, in the snow, rain and mud... it still looks good and is used almost daily. Another fantastic item from Duluth Pack.

I bought mine at a thrift store over 10 years ago and it was well used when I bought it. I have no idea how old the pack is, but it's served me well for the 10 years I've used it as my daypack. It's not the same size as the packs listed today. Mine's 18" tall and 12" wide the way I measure it so it would be somewhere between the medium and the large. The straps are all webbing with no leather to increase the length. Anyway, unless something terrible happens to your Duluth backpack you will only need to ever own one by the looks of things. If you need a backpack this is the one to buy!

Super pack. I bought this after finding the standard too big. Although designed for school kids it is an ideal medium pack for adults. Shoulder straps could be longer though, they just fit me and I am 6'1". I did put in some padding and my 15' mac book pro fits perfectly in a sleeve. I carried the pack all over yosemite as a day pack with snacks and coats for our family of 5. Just the right size for daily use too. First class, and I am VERY fussy about my packs.
